Rappahannock County General District and Juvenile & Domestic Relations Courts will have new hours starting Feb. 1. They are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
On Monday, Feb. 1, the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors meets at a 2 p. m. at the Rappahannock County courthouse on Gay Street. There will be no 7 p.m. meeting. Highlights on the agenda include: fire levy bills; arts, cultural, tourism zones; tax increment financing; Governor’s budget proposals; General Assembly report; Jordan and Hughes Scenic River designations; max. speed of 35 mph on unpaved roads; survey for twice-annual tax collections-tourism; request for special election-vacancy in Clerk’s Office; polling place, Stonewall-Hawthorn District; conflict between Use Value and Conservation Set Aside Programs, and the board’s budgetary policy issues.
On Thursday, Feb. 4, the Rappahannock County Water and Sewer Authority meets at 7:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock County courthouse on Gay Street.
The Town of Washington has a vacancy on both the Planning Commission and the Architectural Review Board. Any resident wishing to be appointed to either the Planning Commission or the Architectural Review Board should submit a letter of interest to the Town at 485 Gay St. or by mail at PO Box 7, Washington, VA 22747 by close of business Feb. 1.
