I am writing in response to your weekly editorial in the Jan. 28 edition of the Rappahannock News concerning separate advertising inserts.
As a subscriber to the Rappahannock News for many years, the ad inserts are one of the main reasons I look forward to receiving my weekly newspaper. In particular, I utilize the grocery store sales flyers as well as the coupons, and justify a portion of the annual newspaper subscription expense as recouped specifically because I save money from the coupons I get in the paper.
I am not at all interested in viewing my newspaper online. As I’m sure you are aware, a good portion of Rappahannock County does not have easy or affordable access to high-speed internet. Unless I want to make the 25-mile round trip to the county library to use the internet there, I do not go online from home with the dial-up modem.
While I enjoy the Rappahannock News, I would have to give a second thought to the annual subscription cost if you decide to forgo the grocery and coupon inserts. Please consider very carefully that there are likely other subscribers that feel as I do that will not take the time to write you with a similar opinion. I wish to continue receiving inserts with my paper.
