As I was taking my daily walk around town on Tuesday morning, I noticed that The Inn at Little Washington was beautifully decorated with pink hydrangeas at the front entrance — a sign of spring on the way.
When the flowers begin to bloom in the herb garden behind The Inn, I especially look forward to my daily stroll. The sights and aromas of the flowers and herbs make for a simply beautiful and truly serene walk, and the variety and arrangement of the garden are visually stunning.
In spring, no one in Rappahannock County has to travel far to enjoy spring’s beauty. It’s also true right here in our town. So, thank you, Chef Patrick O’Connell, for allowing the public to enjoy the beauty of your kitchen garden!
Birthday wishes go out to Sam Snead, who celebrated his day last Saturday, March, 13 and to a very special little girl, Aubrey Taylor Burke. She celebrates her special day today — March 18. Also wishes go out to Stacy Clark who will have his day tomorrow, March 19.
Time to Zumba
Zumba exercise classes for men, women and teens are now available in Washington at a time convenient to working people! Zumba fitness classes, taught around the world, are the most fun you can have while exercising.
Ellie Clark of Washington teaches this lively workout to Latin dance rhythms at the Mountainside Physical Therapy Center, on U.S. 211 between the elementary and high schools. Classes are at 7 p.m. Wednesdays and 10 a.m. Saturdays and cost $10 per class (or 10 classes for $80). Bring a friend, or your spouse. You don’t even have to know how to dance, just let the music move you! So come on out and join the fun!
Additionally, Ellie offers aerobics classes for women only at Trinity Episcopal Church, in town three times a week — at 8:15 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The friendly group of ladies will welcome you, and this is the best bargain in town at $6 per class.
