Hospice of the Rapidan will host its 2010 Golf Invitational on Monday, June 14, at Fauquier Springs Country Club in Warrenton. Proceeds from the tournament help Hospice of the Rapidan provide compassionate and dignified end-of-life care to everyone who needs it in Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange and Rappahannock counties regardless of his or her ability to pay.
This event is an opportunity for golfers in north-central Virginia to support outstanding hospice care in their community while enjoying a competitive round of golf and a luncheon with friends, colleagues and business associates.
Nearly 100 golfers participated in last year’s event, which raised more than $20,000.
The tournament is open to all, and entries from individual golfers, teams, and corporate sponsors are welcome. Each entry includes green fees, cart, a gift bag, lunch and on course beverages. The tournament also includes raffle prizes, a number of fun contests, and a variety of sponsorship opportunities.
One highlight of this year’s tournament is a hole-in-one prize of a 2010 Harley-Davidson motorcycle sponsored by Waugh Enterprises of Orange County. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. and the shotgun start is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. A copy of the tournament brochure which includes an entry form is available on Hospice of the Rapidan’s Web site at www.hotr.org/golf2010.htm
The event has traditionally enjoyed significant support from the area business community. Many companies take advantage of the various sponsorship opportunities to show their commitment to the communities in which their employees, suppliers and customers reside. Options range from $200 for a Hole Sponsorship to $5,000 for a Platinum corporate sponsorship, which includes eight golfers and a full range of media recognition.
Current sponsors include Channel 21, Culpeper; Panera Bread; Better Impressions; Ben Gravett Enterprises and the publisher of this newspaper. Information about sponsorships and advertising in the event program is available from Rose Cornelious, development director at Hospice of the Rapidan, at (540) 825-4840 or email@example.com.
Detailed descriptions of the different sponsorship levels and their associated costs and benefits are also available online at www.hotr.org/golf2010.htm. Sponsorships must be received by May 19 to be included in the event program.
“The entire Hospice of the Rapidan community is delighted to host this event, which has become so popular throughout the communities we serve,” said Executive Director Kathy Clements. “We deeply appreciate the dedication and hard work of the golf committee, and especially its chair, Lee Sherbeyn of Bealeton. We also appreciate the support of the Remington Lions Club which hosts the meetings of the golf committee. This kind of mutual support among leading, locally based, non-profit organizations helps build stronger communities.”
