The Rappahannock County Water and Sewer Authority meets today (Nov. 4) at 7:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock County courthouse on Gay Street.
On Tuesday, Nov. 8 the Rappahannock County School Board will meet in a 7 p.m. closed session and a 7:30 p.m. public session at RCHS band room.
The Town Council of the Town of Washington voted to move its regularly scheduled Council meeting on Nov. 8 to Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall.
The Town of Washington is seeking letters of interest from residents who wish to be considered for nomination to the Planning Commission or the Architectural Review Board. The Town Council will consider these appointments on Nov. 15. Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, the Rappahannock County Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a consolidated November and December meeting on Thursday, Dec. 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the Courthouse in Washington, if necessary.
Master Gardener volunteer training will be held in Culpeper, Rappahannock, Madison and Orange counties starting Jan. 11 and continuing each Tuesday until mid-April from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The training will rotate between the local extension offices. The first class will be held at the Culpeper Extension Office, 101 South West St.

Rappahannock County tax bills for 2010 have been mailed and must be paid or postmarked on or before Dec. 5, to avoid penalty. Failure to receive a bill through the mail does not relieve the taxpayer of any additional charges that will accrue under law for failure to pay within the prescribed time. The annual artisans market runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at two locations – RAAC Community Theater and Town Hall. There is a $35 fee to participate, payable when you are notified of acceptance. Applications are accepted until the markets are full. Participating artisans are showing handmade baskets, iron work, stained glass, pottery and jewelry.
