Food drive ends in big success

Wakefield Country Day School students and families concluded an very successful canned food drive by collecting more than twice its goal of 1,200 cans/boxes. A new school record of 2,600 cans or boxes of food, an average of 11 per student, was amassed for the food drive. Lori Perry’s and Brad Boelter’s fifth-grade class collected the most cans, followed by Christine Chatelain’s fourth-graders and April Heddleston’s second-grade students. The food will be delivered to food banks/food pantries in Rappahannock and Page counties.
