Flint Hill resident Bob Clements poses with his horse, Wrocky, after the two won the Reserve Championship ribbon in Training Level at the Virginia Dressage Association’s annual championship and schooling show at Morven Park in Leesburg last month. Clements has been riding dressage for almost seven years, for the past two under the instruction of Renee Carter of Carter Dressage, Cabin Branch Farm in Orlean. Another Carter student, Kathleen Parsons (right) of Chester Gap – and her thoroughbred mare, May Nine – won the Championship ribbon in Training Level the same day. Parson, a San Diego native, has been riding since age 4, but began her focus on dressage five years ago.
