Rappahannock Rapidan Community Services transportation services will not operate on Friday, Jan. 13, in observance of Lee-Jackson Day, and Monday, Jan. 16, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
All Rappahannock County government offices will be closed on Friday, Jan. 13 in observance of Lee-Jackson Day and on Monday, Jan. 16 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. They will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 17.
Union First Market and BB&T Bank will be closed on Monday, Jan. 16, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 17.

The Town of Washington’s Architectural Review Board’s regularly scheduled meeting of Thursday, Feb. 9, has been changed to Thursday, Feb. 16.
The United Daughters of the Confederacy Culpeper Chapter #73 invites the students of Rappahannock County to participate in its annual essay contest. Public, private and home-schooled students are encouraged to enter. Prizes, awarded in six grade categories spanning first through 12th grade, are $50 (first-place) $35 and $25.
