I am a member of Girl Scout Troop 628, and we recently completed our Silver Award, the second-highest award in Girl Scouting. We held a Safety Fair for the community, where expert presenters gave lectures on different safety topics. Our troop (Virginia Arthur, Hannah Bennett, Kathleen Forrest, Megan Kelly and myself) would like to thank a few people for their help in putting this project together.
First, thank you to Richie Burke and the Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department for allowing us to hold our fair at the Fourth of July Celebration – it was a perfect location for completing our project. Thank you to Union First Market Bank, which sponsored half of cost of the insulated food bags we distributed.
Thank you especially to all of our wonderful presenters – Mary Arthur, Charlie Newton, Trooper Don Corbin, Michelle Kelley, Amo Merritt, Judie Graham, Sharon Komar, Kelly Bennett, and Art Candenquist – who took the time to come and give presentations (in extreme heat, I might add).
And, lastly, thank you to our Rappahannock community for your continued support. We hope you learned a lot, and we couldn’t have done this without you!
