I wanted to say how much we enjoyed Walter Nicklin’s recent pre-election editorial: It bespoke thoughtfulness, wisdom and sensitivity. There cannot, sadly, be many country newspapers with as literate a publisher who can, in one editorial, speak the truth to power and touch some of the hallmarks of a society’s cultural heritage. Rappahannockers pride themselves on our mountains, land and people; we can now add the quality of the editorials shared with the populace by its publisher.
