Letter: Sponsor a cherub for Christmas

The holidays are quickly approaching and the Rappahannock County Department of Social Services is preparing to sponsor “Cherub Trees” again this year. Last year more than 80 children, from infants through age 18, were served thanks to the generosity of our county.

If you have a child who needs Christmas gifts, please contact the Department of Social Services by Dec. 5 to complete your application.

The trees are in place at Trinity Episcopal Church and the Rappahannock County Library. If you adopt a cherub to provide Christmas gifts, the gifts need to be brought to our office at 354 Gay St., Washington, by Dec. 14 to allow us time to get the gifts to the intended recipient.

If you have questions or need more information, feel free to call us at 540-675-3313. We will gladly accept monetary donations to help those in need this holiday season.
