Pfc. Lincoln Day, a member of the Shenandoah Valley Young Marines, presented the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors with a proposal to proclaim Oct. 23-31 “Red Ribbon Week,” as part of a nationwide effort to promote drug awareness. “Your proclamation to honor Red Ribbon Week in Rappahannock County is a show of support for . . . all of the men and women who fight against drugs every day,” said Day, a fourth grader at Wakefield County Day School. “I thank you for that.” The supervisors accepted the young Marine’s proposal unanimously.
