. . . SEE SANTA BEFORE THE SHOW: In the lobby before Saturday’s free RappHappy Holiday Concert at the Theatre in Washington, an ebullient Santa greeted guests of all ages, including brothers Nicholas (left) and Isaac Plaksin of Sperryville and Olivia Devening (behind Isaac). The concert, put on by Ben Jones and Alma Viator, featured Jones and his Cooter’s Garage Band and jazz pianist Bill Harris; admission was a requested donation of food or funds. Early reports from the Rappahannock Food Pantry, which accepted the gifts, indicated that it wasn’t just Santa who was generous this Christmas.
. . . HELP FEED THE NEEDY: Last Thursday and Friday (Dec. 19-20), Rappahannock Food Pantry volunteers, including Beverly Hunter, shown here celebrating some donated leafy greens, handed out tons of fresh food to more than 200 families just in time for Christmas. Bev Hunter’s photos are below.
. . . RUN WITH BELLS ON: A festively dressed runner — and a few hundred other runners and walkers — pounded the pavements of Washington for the annual Jingle Bell 5K. Photos from Ruthie Windsor Mann below:
