The Rappahannock County School Board’s Dec. 11 session marked the final meeting for Stonewall-Hawthorne representative Paul Brown, who declined to run for reelection earlier this year and will be replaced by Larry Grove in January.
Brown was honored at the beginning of the meeting, as each of his fellow board members (and district supervisor Chris Parrish) wished him well and thanked him for his two years of service. “Y’all don’t even know how much I’ll miss him,” said Jackson district representative Amy Hitt. “Paul is the calm to my storm . . . and a really great guy. He’s done a lot for us here.”
“Paul has been a great board member,” agreed chairman John Lesinski. “He really stepped into the breach when he agreed to serve here . . . and he’s been a cornerstone of this board ever since.”
“It’s really not that hard to serve here when you have great people to work with,” replied a grateful Brown. “Please don’t hesitate to call me.”
