The Rappahannock County Water and Sewer Authority meets at 5:30 p.m. tonight (Thursday, April 10) in the county courthouse.

The Washington Town Council meets at 7 p.m. on Monday (April 14) at town hall. Agenda includes updates on Avon Hall, the Americana Musical Festival, the Wastewater Treatment Plant, a town/RappFLOW Department of Forestry grant and the authorization of a public hearing on the 2014-15 budget.

The Rappahannock County Planning Commission meets at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday (April 16) at the courthouse on Gay Street. Agenda includes Miller golf course and Loock family apartment.

The Treasurer’s Office is closed April 30 and May 1 to allow for the transition of the new treasurer.  The 2014 county decals are on sale and should be displayed by April 15.

Piedmont Softball Association is now accepting registrations for all girls born between 1995 and 2008 interested in playing fastpitch softball in 2014. The registration fees are $50 per girl 12 and younger and $55 for older girls ($5 discount for multiple players from same household; full scholarships are available). The Culpeper Soil & Water Conservation District offers scholarships on for students planning to major in agriculture, environmental science/policy, horticulture or other conservation-related fields. Northern Piedmont Beginning Farmer Program (NPBFP) is a multi-class initiative to help aspiring and diversifying farmers make informed decisions about a new operation.
