Al Kellert, owner of Gray Ghost Vineyards, throws out the first pitch at opening day last Saturday morning of the Rappahannock Culpeper Baseball League. The pitch was a mean slider but Allison Sanitra, catcher for the Major Nationals (sponsored by Gray Ghost), hung onto it while players for all the league’s teams, from T-ball to major-level, watched from the outfield. After the ceremonies, the Nationals met the Iron Birds in the first game of a doubleheader at Amissville’s Stuart Field.
