Fill ’er up?

Despite being at their lowest point for this time of year since 2011, gas prices are on the rise nationwide — just in time for summer vacation, the Wall Street Journal reports. Rural Rappahannock County hasn’t been spared from the inflation effects either, though all five of the county’s gas stations — each of which featured at least one driver gassing up Tuesday afternoon (April 22) — offer prices several cents below the national average of $3.68 per gallon. Baldwin’s, just off U.S. 211 near Washington, boasts the most expensive gas in the county at $3.59 per gallon, followed by Mayhugh’s (at $3.55), Hillsdale and the 211 Quicke Mart. Settle’s in Flint Hill is the cheapest — at $3.47 a gallon, it’s a full 19 cents cheaper than the U.S. average.
