Photos: What goes around . . .

Eric Bear, who ran in the very first Fodderstack 10K race more than 30 years ago (that’s him at the start of the 1978 race, wearing No. 1), completed the 36th annual 10K last Saturday (April 26) with his sons, seventh-grader Josh (left) and freshman Alex (right). Bear, who was an eighth-grader at Rappahannock County High School when he first ran and now lives in Fairfax, took second in his age group in 1978; his boys, running in their first 10K, finished just outside trophy-qualifying position this year. Both enjoyed the experience, Bear reports, and want to train harder before next year’s race — which will be their second and Bear’s 12th.
