People Incorporated is seeking volunteers to work with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program. Volunteers are needed in several capacities for the site in Warrenton (which also serves Rappahannock County taxpayers). Volunteers will be trained using the IRS’ Link and Learn Taxes program, after which IRS-certified volunteers provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals. Volunteers are also needed to serve as greeters, and a site coordinator is needed (the latter position requiring some experience in tax preparation).
