Letter: Thanks for taking on tomorrow’s filmmakers

Courtesy of Rappahannock 4-HTwenty-three 9- to 15-year-olds participated in the 4-H Youth Filmmakers’ workshop on April 10. David Frey from Mac Business Solutions taught the participants how to use iMovie on Virginia Cooperative Extension-provided iPads. Participants were then divided into small groups, with each group being assigned to interview people in the community who were involved with or supportive of the RAAC Film Festival at Little Washington. Once video was taken, the young participants edited and watched each other’s short films while enjoying a pizza lunch. These videos can be seen online at the Rappahannock News’ website (at www.rappnews.com/kidvid).

Many thanks to the following people for giving their time, knowledge and energy to this worthwhile 4-H workshop: David Frey, Dee Dee Slewka, Horton Beebee-Center, Mathieu Mazza, Tracy Mazza, Felix Mazza, Juliette Mazza, Kathleen Stover and Spencer Shaepman.
