News Briefs: Trinity pledges reach $500K

Rev. Jennings “Jenks” Hobson announced at Trinity Episcopal Church’s April 26 worship services that the parish had received roughly $500,000 in pledges to its “Welcoming the Future, Honoring the Past” capital fund campaign. The monies will be used to pay for renovating the church rectory and for improvements to the church’s parish hall, principally in the provision of handicapped access and improved space utilization.

Capital Fund co-chairs John Sullivan and Cole Johnson believe the campaign’s success is a both a tribute to its retiring rector and an affirmation of support for Trinity Church in the coming years. Rev. Hobson’s last Sunday in the pulpit will be May 31, and the parish leadership is already at work managing the transition to a new pastor and completing the plans for the capital improvements.
