Letter: People should know about People For Pets

I recently discovered an absolutely wonderful nonprofit, animal rescue group serving our area that people in Rappahannock should know about. The group is called People For Pets, and I learned about them when I was trying to find a home for a stray cat that showed up at our house.

This stray cat needed medical attention before he could be adopted. People For Pets directed me to Dr. Jones at Rose Hill Veterinary Practice, who works with them to assess the strays to make sure they’re suitable for adoption and recommends any needed medication. I fostered the cat for a couple of weeks while his health improved, and once he was deemed healthy, People For Pets picked him up and started the process of finding a suitable home.

You can find People For Pets at peopleforpetsfoundation.org. They are located in Jeffersonton. Check out their website for more information, and the next time you’re thinking of donating something to help strays, keep them in mind.
