Letter: Thanks for all that jazz in Flint Hill

Under the tent at the Flint Hill Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company grounds last Saturday (Sept. 19), local resident and nationally known jazz pianist Bill Harris, along with his quartet, entertained well over 100 guests during an evening of jazz, food and dance. It was the first annual Flint Hill Jazz Festival —  hopefully to be followed by many more!

The evening began at 7 and ended at 10, all to benefit the Flint Hill VFR. The dance floor was crowded with couples enthusiastically showing their dance moves. The beat was varied, covering several decades of swing music.  A great time was had by all!

The evening was conceived, organized and produced by Gail Reardon, owner of the Merry Moo Market specialty grocery store in Flint Hill.

Special thanks are also due to the following patrons who underwrote the lovely evening: Paul Smith and Michael Dennis, Julia Theriot, Greg Williams, The Last Resort, Stratton Semmes, Alma Viator and Ben Jones, Jim and Debbie Donehey, Ray and Helen Dubois, Jane Whitfield and Salvatore Abbate, Linda and Bill Dietel, Betsy Dietel and Michael Sands.
