Letter: Thank you for the return trip to Richmond

Another election has come and gone in the 18th District, and the voters have decided to send me back to Richmond. It’s an incredible honor to serve in the Virginia General Assembly representing residents in Culpeper, Fauquier, Rappahannock and Warren counties in the House of Delegates.

For the past four years, I have had the privilege to serve in the oldest continuously operating legislative body in the New World — a distinction that I am thrilled to share with many of our nation’s founding fathers, including Patrick Henry, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison; however, this would never have been possible without the support of my constituents.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to my supporters and the volunteers who assisted me in my reelection.

The countless volunteers who worked to sustain our democratic process by working the polls on Election Day, and over the course of the campaign, provided an immeasurable contribution, and I would like to thank you for your efforts. From helping me gather signatures to qualify for my reelection, to speaking to your friends and neighbors regarding my candidacy, your time and assistance have been critical.

Finally, I would like to thank you for the vote of confidence. The support I received from across the district has been humbling. I can assure you I will continue to champion policies that promote limited government and greater individual liberties and that foster greater economic opportunity.

I look forward to continuing my work on behalf of the residents in the 18th District in the House of Delegates.

Michael Webert
Delegate, 18th District
Virginia General Assembly
