Letter: For the upcoming tournament — thanks to all!

The Rappahannock County Public Schools Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) would like to thank the following local team sponsors for their generous support of our upcoming Alumni Basketball Tournament: A&E Excavating, B&B Signal, Cooter’s Place in Sperryville, Miller & Smith Home Builders, Rappahannock Farm Bureau, TC Robey Construction, Union Bank & Trust and Williams Tree Service & Landscaping. This year our referee sponsor is Country Chevrolet, this sponsor makes it possible to have professional referees.

The generous donations of these sponsors is vital to the success of our annual tournament, which is a major fundraiser for our organization. The money we raise allows us to enrich the education of Rappahannock students in countless ways throughout the school year.

Our fourth annual tournament will be this Friday and Saturday (Nov. 27-28) at the high school. This year we have even more exciting changes! Both nights will feature two men’s basketball games. On Friday our event will begin with a ladies volleyball game. On Saturday night, we have a new addition to the event — a Golden Oldies game. This game will be only for men who are 40 and older! Both nights we will be offering full concessions and T-shirt sales. For more information, email pto@rappahannockschools.us.

Once again, a heartfelt thank you to our sponsors for their invaluable support. We hope that Rappahannock citizens will support these local businesses as faithfully as they have supported us each year. Also, a big thank-you to our players this weekend. Please come out Friday and Saturday night at 6 to this fun community event. You will enjoy seeing alumni from several decades while supporting a great cause!
