The 11th annual Artists of Rappahannock Studio & Gallery Tour was a huge success — celebrating the visual arts in Rappahannock, and supporting our artists through sales and visibility of their work. The Tour also supported local businesses and provided an uplifting and pleasurable experience for the hundreds of Tour guests. Moreover, the net proceeds will be plowed into the Rappahannock Association for Arts and Community’s Claudia Mitchell Arts Fund.
Underlying these successes was the productive and dedicated effort of so many community members throughout the year to produce the Tour. Without this pulling together and constructive teamwork, the Tour would not and could not be the exciting and impressive event that it is.
It is important to acknowledge our gratitude for the many people engaged in planning, publicizing, producing art, sponsoring, organizing and volunteering to contribute to the common good of Rappahannock’s artists, local businesses and those that enjoy being part of a culturally and artistically rich community. It is a cycle of mutual enrichment as all the monies raised go right back into the community to support artistic endeavors through RAAC’s Mitchell Arts Fund grants.
Particular thanks go out to the RAAC board and the Art Tour committee members, who will start meeting in January to plan for 2016; all of the sponsors who gave so generously; the artists who produced such fine works of art and prepared their working studios for the appreciative crowds; the gallery owners who represented so many fine artists; the Rappahannock News for running a series of entertaining and informative articles about the artists; the food and hospitality business owners who enriched the guests’ experience; the many energetic volunteers who performed their vital tasks with enthusiasm, and everyone who attended.
You all made this Tour a success for all!
