The toddler playground at Rappahannock County Park, John Riedel’s Eagle Scout project, is complete.

I am happy to announce that my Eagle Scout project is complete! The toddler playground at the Rappahannock County Park is now open, and our families can enjoy the playground and other activities at the park. My project would not have been possible without help from the community.

I would like to thank the Amissville Ruritan Club, the Rappahannock County Garden Club, the Lion’s Club, the Knights of Columbus, and the William and Mary Greve Foundation for their very generous monetary donations. Playgrounds aren’t as cheap as you may think!

My volunteers included the scouts and adults of Troops 36 and 316, who cheerfully helped a fellow scout to dig footing holes, assemble and move the playground into place, pour concrete and construct the border. Also, I received a great deal of advice and help from Steve Critzer of Critzer Heavy Equipment, LLC, who prepared the site and transported the materials to the park. Finally, I send my thanks to the community and the Rappahannock County Recreational Facilities Authority, who allowed me to carry out my Eagle project for the public’s enjoyment. Whenever your kids want to play outside, take them by the park and check out the newest addition!
