Letter: Learning more about bees

I was amused by the photo of honey bees on the bird feeder [front page, Jan. 7]. Our warm weather brought them out looking for pollen, scarce to non-existent at this time of year. The bird seeds and corn dust are carried back to the hive only to be thrown out by the house bees. Anyone interested in learning about honey bees is welcome at the Northern Piedmont Beekeepers Association’s Bee Class given in February (more information at www.npbee.org/class).
