Students from Rappahannock Electric Cooperative’s service territory joined 1,700 students from around the country for the National Rural Electric Cooperative Youth Tour last month — a week-long visit to Washington, D.C., to see government and the legislative process (and yes, the Washington Nationals) in action. “Youth Tour was such an awesome opportunity for not only learning about cooperatives and the political process, but forming lifelong friendships,” said Joshua Racer (far right), Rappahannock County High School’s chosen delegate on the REC tour. “And I loved learning about how much of an impact cooperatives have on our society and how many there actually are.” Shown here meeting with Rep. Rob Wittman, are (from left) Andres Carr, Jonathan Spaulding, Elizabeth Dalton, Wittman, Holli Foster, Justin Petrie, Annelise Wright and Racer.
