We’re not in Kansas, but . . .

By John McCaslinAs seen from the driveway of the Maeyer farm on U.S. 211 between Washington and Sperryville, the storm that arrived Monday afternoon from the west looks plenty threatening. As it was, gusty winds and rain ahead of a cold front took down a good number of trees and branches in Rappahannock, but caused no serious injuries, according to the authorities. John McCaslin says a few minutes after he took this photo, a tree at the far end of this driveway blew down and blocked it for an hour or two.
