Medics attend to motorcyclist Wayne L. Katz, 48, of Harrisonburg, at midday Saturday before he was flown to U.Va. Medical Center with a broken leg and unknown other injuries, after his 2005 Harley Davidson collided with a 2003 Toyota SUV on U.S. 211 near Thornton Gap Church Road. A Virginia State Police spokesman said the accident occurred when Bonnie Baldwin, 62, of Sperryville, attempted to turn left from the cross street to head east on 211. Katz was part of a miles-long motorcade of several hundred combat vets heading into Shenandoah National Park as part of a fundraising motorcycle ride. Baldwin was cited by Trooper K.H. Frantz for failing to yield.
