At the Thornton’s Gap Regular Baptist Church last Friday, the bluegrass and gospel music, not to mention the fried chicken and fixings, were flowing — including the music from (in one of five different band performances, pictured here from left) Steve Norman, Susan Kirby, Travis Jenkins and Thornton’s Gap Pastor Tim Dyke — whose T-shirt says, if you can’t quite make it out: “Never Underestimate an Old Man with a Mandolin.” More photos and videos on the church’s website at
