Big George back in Little Washington!

Save Dec. 10 — the not-to-be-missed All-County Christmas Parade and Artisans Market will occur in the town of Washington. This year George Washington himself, along with the lovely Martha, have agreed to serve as grand marshalls. This may be the first time in more than 200 years that GW has returned to the town named for him. This year sees the return of a much expanded Artisans Market in four locations, along with the Inn at Little Washington market in the center of town.

The parade will be led by the Knights of Columbus and will feature the return of the Rappahannock Hunt, along with favorites that include the award-winning Rappahannock County High School Band, antique cars with local luminaries, floats featuring the children of Rappahannock, and, of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Immediately following the parade, Santa will appear on the porch of the County Administrator’s office to listen to the requests of each child and Mrs. Claus will have a gift for every child.

While there is no charge for the festivities, it is a fundraiser for the Food Pantry and we hope you’ll drop a few (or more than a few) dollars in the baskets.

The county-wide event is the culminating celebration of the year. Come one, come all to Christmas in Little Washington, aka Christmas in Rappahannock County.
