Seeing art in puddles

Despite the wet weekend, more than one thousand art lovers from across the mid-Atlantic flocked to Rappahannock County for RAAC’s 13th Annual Artists of Rappahannock Studio & Gallery Tour. For the opening night reception on Friday, the old Washington School was transformed into an impressive art gallery that would rival any found in big cities.

Over 150 pieces of art created by local artists, including two large works by Rappahannock elementary and high school students — the first time ever that the two public schools participated in the tour — were on display for the opening reception. The tour, which featured several dozen studios and galleries, was deemed a tremendous success, benefitting local artists, businesses and the entire community.
