Voting begins in Rappahannock

Absentee voting in Rappahannock County — including in-person absentee voting — begins tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 21.

As of last week there are 5,804 registered voters in the county and 117 registered voters in the Town of Washington.

Here are key dates to remember:

— The deadline to register to vote or to update registration is Oct. 15.

— The deadline to request an absentee ballot be mailed is Oct. 30.

— The last opportunity to vote in person absentee is Nov. 3, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“We will be open the last two Saturdays before the Election: October 27th and November 3rd,” according to Kimberly McKiernan, director of Elections for Rappahannock County. “For any questions or concerns, please feel free to call us at 540-675-5380 M-F 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.”

Voters are welcome to vote in person absentee or they may request a ballot be mailed to them by completing a form online.

When voting be sure to bring an acceptable photo ID.
