Who’d a thunk it?

By John McCaslin

Farmers in the 1950s who took advantage of the many services provided by the Rappahannock County Farm Bureau, located today on Route 211 in Sperryville, probably didn’t realize that the metal signs distributed to bureau members in those days would fetch almost $100 today. The square-foot signs, like the one here for sale on eBay, offered $500 rewards leading to the arrest and conviction of trespassers who were up to no good on somebody else’s property.
