Graves Mountain Apple Harvest Festival

Thousands of people flocked Saturday and Sunday to the 49th Annual Apple Harvest Festival at Graves Mountain Lodge, featuring children’s activities, hayrides (for those who found their way out of the hay maze), untold numbers of crafts and food vendors, bluegrass music, and apples galore.

Seen here, one of many creative hay rolls welcomes visitors at the festival entrance; a long-bearded gentleman holds open the door at the autumn-bedecked Graves Mountain Lodge.

While little Sophie Smith, pictured here with her dad — Culpeper Police Officer J.B. Smith (in the Steelers sweatshirt) — helped members of the United Methodist Church stir up some bubbling hot apple butter.
